Corcovado costa rica national park
Can you imagine being here? We have the best Corcovado guides to offer you an unforgettable experience!
We are frequently asked this question by travelers who want to take a to Corcovado National Park tour, since many times the opinions on the internet confuse them.
The small difference between the Sirena Corcovado tour and San Pedrillo is only 3000 years old. Sirena has a 47 year old secondary forest, and San Pedrillo has a large part of primary forest, at least 3000 years old.
In Sirena you will also have the possibility of seeing more animals, due to the effect between two rivers that makes them contained in a smaller area, they are also more accustomed to humans and there are not as many top predators. In contrast, in San Pedrillo, they are in their completely natural environment, the animals are more elusive, and are more on the prowl, due to the fact that there are more large predators, such as pumas, jaguars, hawks, snakes, etc., which makes it more difficult to see them.
In our opinion, the trails in San Pedrillo are unique because of the interaction between prey and predator in a very natural environment. The trails are more solitary, you will feel like you are in a real jungle, surrounded by huge trees and lush forest. Our Corcovado tours focus on enjoying nature as pure as possible.
Our excursions to Corcovado focus on the experience that you can live in very natural surroundings, long walks, with trails as solitary as possible. Therefore, we always say, in the Overnight tour what makes the difference is the experience, spending two days in nature, sleeping in a place without light and far away from everything, beyond what you can see, the important thing is what you are going to live.
The trails in Sirena are very easy, only in rainy season they get muddy. In San Pedrillo, there are uphill and downhill parts, lots of roots and rocks.
In the rainy season (May to November) the trails are generally very muddy and it is advisable to wear trekking shoes that grip your ankles. In the dry season, you can go with lighter shoes, as the trails become easier, but we always recommend that they have a good grip on the ankles to prevent injuries.
You will always be accompanied by a certified Corcovado National Park guide.
en los tobillos para prevenir lesiones.
In the Osa Peninsula area, we have tropical rainforest, which makes the vegetation lush, and we have practically 7 months of rain. For us both seasons are nice, but we will make a difference in case you have doubts about which one to choose for your visit to Corcovado National Park and Drake Bay area.
Tours to Corcovado from San Jose depart all year round.
Dry season: January to March, the trails are dry, the hike is easier, but it is very hot. It is easier to see tapirs.
Rainy season: May to November, the trails are more difficult because of the mud, it is much cooler and the tour becomes an adventure without a doubt. It is easier to see amphibians and reptiles.
From July to September, the southern humpback whales visit us (they are more active and easier to observe) and from December to April the northern humpback whales.
To conclude we can tell you that each season has its charm.
decirte que cada estación tiene su encanto.
We get this question a lot from travelers before and after booking, but we are somewhat mystical about this, as we like you to be surprised. But let’s give you some details, it is a warm place, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nature, simple and cozy, where the nights are illuminated by the moon and the stars.
It is the best place to sleep if you are looking for contact with nature.
