The Journey

What This Day Feels Like

This experience invites you to slow your mind and journey deep into the rainforest. Walk across ancient ground, breathe in the primary forest, and let its energy accompany you along the way. As you move deeper into the jungle, the noise of everyday life begins to fade, creating space for silence, presence, and a deeper connection with nature and yourself.

A contemplative pace: We walk without rushing, creating opportunities to stop, observe, and experience the presence of centuries-old trees and the power of an ecosystem that has been evolving for thousands of years.

Sensory immersion: The air, humidity, water, earth beneath your feet, and sounds of the rainforest all become part of the experience. You are not simply here to observe nature, but to feel yourself becoming part of it.

Connection: Throughout the journey, you will encounter moments of silence, contemplation, and simple activities that invite you to be present, listen, and experience the forest from a different perspective.

Adventure: Connection also means venturing deeper. We will hike remote trails, cross rivers, swim in waters surrounded by rainforest, and move through a natural environment that asks us to adapt to its own rhythm.

Approximate Itinerary

How the Day Usually Unfolds

  1. Departure

The beginning of a different kind of experience

The adventure begins as we leave Bahía Drake behind and make our way toward one of the most remote areas of the Osa Peninsula. From the very beginning, we invite you to shift your pace, let go of expectations, and prepare to experience the rainforest differently—with curiosity, presence, and all your senses awake.

  2. Day 1

    Venture deeper, feel, and connect

Our first day gradually takes us deeper into the forest. We will hike through primary rainforest, cross rivers, and move through wild natural landscapes, combining adventure with moments to stop, feel, and observe. Along the way, different sensory and connection experiences will help us engage with the jungle beyond what we can simply see.

  3. Night

    A night surrounded by nature

As evening falls, we will arrive at our refuge, surrounded by rainforest and far removed from the pace of everyday life. We will share dinner and have time to rest, talk, and enjoy the feeling of spending the night immersed in nature. A simple, unhurried way to bring the day to a close.

  4. Day 2

A new way of experiencing the jungle

Waking up in the rainforest marks the beginning of a new stage of the journey. We will continue exploring while practicing a more mindful way of walking and experiencing our surroundings. The forest, the water, the sounds, and our own senses will accompany us through this final part of the experience before we begin our return.

  5. The final stop

    Lunch at Ana's

We will close the experience by sharing lunch at Ana's—a final moment around the table to rest, talk, and take in everything we have experienced over these two days before returning to Bahía Drake.

This itinerary is approximate. Activities may change, the guide may adapt parts of the experience, and weather or trail conditions may require adjustments. Safety will always be the priority.

Preparation

Difficulty and How to Prepare

Moderate difficulty
You do not need to be an experienced hiker, but you should feel comfortable walking for several hours in a natural environment. The rainforest includes uneven terrain, exposed roots, mud, elevation changes, and possible river crossings, so we recommend having an active level of physical fitness.
Be prepared to get wet and dirty
Mud, humidity, water, and rain are not inconveniences here—they are part of the experience. Bring comfortable, lightweight, quick-drying clothing and come prepared to experience the jungle however it chooses to reveal itself.
Come with fewer expectations and more curiosity
You do not need to prepare yourself to encounter particular species or follow a perfectly predictable itinerary. Part of this journey is about embracing the unexpected, observing what unfolds, and allowing nature to set the pace.
Give yourself two days to be fully present
We invite you to minimize your phone use throughout the experience. This does not mean you have to stop taking photographs. It simply means finding moments to put the camera away, awaken your senses, and fully experience what is happening right in front of you.

This experience may include a night in a rustic refuge within the natural environment. It is part of the adventure and does not offer the comforts of a hotel.
