The Journey

What This Day Feels Like

This experience is designed for lovers of wilder nature, authentic places, and trails far from the tourist crowds. It is for those who want to venture into a pristine environment and feel, for one day, that they are truly part of it.

At the beginning of the journey, we will meet Don Alfredo, guardian of the forest, who has lived there for years. We will share a coffee and listen to his unique philosophy of life, shaped by years of living alongside and respecting nature.

We will then venture along seldom-traveled trails, across rivers, and through an ancient forest, walking amid a natural world that invites us to observe, listen, and connect with everything happening around us.

In the middle of the jungle, a waterfall hidden within the forest awaits us. It is a place to pause, enter the water, and simply enjoy the feeling of being there, surrounded by nature.

This will be a challenging hike of approximately 18 kilometers, where the effort, terrain, and immersion are all part of the experience.

A day of adventure and connection that lets you experience nature from within.

Preparation

Difficulty and How to Prepare

Difficulty
Moderate to high. This is an active and demanding experience that requires good physical condition and a willingness to hike for several hours.
Distance
Approximately 18 km throughout the day.
Terrain
Natural trails with uphill and downhill sections, roots, river crossings, and different obstacles typical of the forest. During the rainy season, mud can make the challenge considerably greater.
Physical condition
Recommended for active people who are accustomed to walking. You do not need to be an athlete, but you should feel comfortable completing a long hike and remaining physically active for several hours.
Climate and humidity
A warm tropical climate with high humidity. Rain can arrive at any time and change terrain conditions.
Wildlife
Wildlife is present, but this route is not focused on observing animals. We move through natural environments with dense vegetation, so any encounter is unpredictable and no sighting is guaranteed.
Footwear
Comfortable, closed-toe hiking shoes with very good traction. Keep in mind that they may get wet and muddy.
Clothing
Fresh, lightweight, quick-drying clothing. Shorts are a good option. Come prepared to get wet, get dirty, and enjoy that part of the experience too.
